Add the Pomegranate juice, sugar, water, and spices to a large saucepan.
Turn on to medium heat and warm fluid until sugar is dissolved. Turn down to a low and allow to simmer.
Peel, core, and slice the pears in half ( if you want them whole you can just peel them and put them in to the syrup whole.)
Put the pears into the pomegranate syrup. Allow the pears to poach for 15-20 minutes.
Remove the pears once they are tender.
Simmer the sauce to thicken and reduce it. for an additional 10-15 m
Top the pears with the pomegranate syrup, Mascarpone Cream, hazelnuts and pomegranate arils.
