Cinnamon Spiced Tea Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Cinnamon Tea Cake
- 3 TBSP Butter
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 TBS Cinnamon
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp Baking powder
Cream Cheese frosting
- 4 TBSP Butter (room temperature)
- 4 oz Cream Cheese (1/2 package, Softened)
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease your 8x8 baking dish, and line it with parchment if you wish.
First cream together your butter and sugar for about 2-3 minutes, or until nearly white and well combined.
Second- add together the cake flour, cinnamon, and baking powder.
Third- Sift 1/ 3 the flour, cinnamon, baking powder mixture into your stand mixer, the pour 1/2 of the milk in. Use the wisk attachment and mix until just combined.
Repeat this process and end by adding in the last of the Flour, cinnamon, baking powder mixture.
Allow to whisk for about 10- 20 seconds or until just combined. Do not over mix.
Scape cake mixture out into a 8×8 greased pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cake is slightly browed around the edges and a toothpick inserted in the center will come out clean, Allow to cool for 30-60 minutes.
Cream Cheese Frosting
Cream together the 4 TBSPs of butter and 4oz of cream cheese with the paddle attachment or a hand held mixer until smooth (about 2-3 min)
Add in 1 tsp vanilla, mix until combined
Slowly add in confectioners sugar 1/2 cup at a time, mix on the lowest setting ... slowly unless you want your kitchen dusted with powdered sugar.
Spread cream cheese frosting all over the top of your cooled Cinnamon Tea Cake, dust with some cinnamon and sugar. Enjoy!
