Cinnamon Spiced Tea Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients
  

Cinnamon Tea Cake

  • 3 TBSP Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 TBS Cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Baking powder

Cream Cheese frosting

  • 4 TBSP Butter (room temperature)
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese (1/2 package, Softened)
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease your 8x8 baking dish, and line it with parchment if you wish.
  • First cream together your butter and sugar for about 2-3 minutes, or until nearly white and well combined.
  • Second- add together the cake flour, cinnamon, and baking powder.
  • Third- Sift 1/ 3 the flour, cinnamon, baking powder mixture into your stand mixer, the pour 1/2 of the milk in. Use the wisk attachment and mix until just combined.
  • Repeat this process and end by adding in the last of the Flour, cinnamon, baking powder mixture.
  • Allow to whisk for about 10- 20 seconds or until just combined. Do not over mix.
  • Scape cake mixture out into a 8×8 greased pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cake is slightly browed around the edges and a toothpick inserted in the center will come out clean, Allow to cool for 30-60 minutes.

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • Cream together the 4 TBSPs of butter and 4oz of cream cheese with the paddle attachment or a hand held mixer until smooth (about 2-3 min)
  • Add in 1 tsp vanilla, mix until combined
  • Slowly add in confectioners sugar 1/2 cup at a time, mix on the lowest setting ... slowly unless you want your kitchen dusted with powdered sugar.
  • Spread cream cheese frosting all over the top of your cooled Cinnamon Tea Cake, dust with some cinnamon and sugar. Enjoy!
