This citrusy and floral syrup is exactly what you need this summer to take your cold drinks to the next level.
Lemongrass is a grass as you would imagine, it has the most lovely fragrance and taste. Lemongrass tastes like its name it is a lemony flowery flavor that is amazing. It is often included in Thai food, to add a citrusy floral notes to many of their dishes. My favorite Thai food that uses this ingredient is Tom Yum soup, or coconut soup.
But I digress, Lemongrass syrup is amazingly tropical and exotic. It adds a floral tart sweetness to any sweet foods. One could use this syrup to moisten a coconut cake, or on waffles or pancakes. One could also drizzle it over fruit, yogurt, or on ice-cream. It is truly delicious. My favorite use for Lemongrass Syrup is in making drinks. I love making mocktails, or sophisticated non alcoholic beverages, and this is one of my favorite syrups. Its exotic tropical sweetness is so delicious. I add it to some coconut soda water with a squeeze of lime…done. You should definitely make some right now, you will not regret it! Your welcome.
This syrup has 3 ingredients and takes 5 minutes to cook, 5 minutes to cool and then it is ready. Lemongrass syrup could be used for a tea sweetener, on top of yogurt, or ice cream. Also if you bake it could be used as a unique and unexpected flavor on a cake…can you imagine vanilla cake with lemon grassy syrup soak, and coconut frosting? Yummmm. This is so easy, give it a try it will brighten up all of you summer cocktails and mocktails.
