Mocktails are among my favorite thing to create. I love trying to balance flavors, the bitter, sweet, savory, and sour. ( ;-)My website plug… see how I did that.) It is a challenge that I enjoy, and I get to share my successes and a delicious sip with my husband and children.
Balanced Flavor…
When a delicious mocktail hits your lips, and the wave of different flavors rolls over your tongue. As you slowly sip your drink, you say to yourself, “ooh its sweet”, then “ahhh, its tart”, and then “oh what a surprise, there is a bit of bitterness” right in the end as I swallow. It sort of makes me feel like Willy Wonka, when I can hit all the notes in one sip. This is one of those lovely drinks. You can make it in a pitcher, and share it with friends. On the other hand, you could fancy it up with garnishes, and serve it in a lovely glass, which is always fun, and makes you feel like you are celebrating.
You’ve got to try this…
Either way, this little drink comes together in about 10 minutes and is worth the extra effort. This Grapefruit, Pear & Rosemary Spritzer is complex, refreshing and refined all on its own, but a splash of gin or vodka would definitely not hurt a thing. You should definitely make this drink this weekend, you will impress all that have the privilege of tasting it.
