Do you ever just get the strongest sweets craving? You’re looking through your cupboards, digging around, and there’s nothing that seems will satisfy it. Well, I had one of those moments just the other day. Then all of a sudden, it occurred to me I had some simple ingredients that would make the best most decadent dessert that I could ever crave. Cream cheese, butter, a box of chocolate cake mix, eggs, and cocoa powder. These few ingredients make for one of the best most rich and satisfying desserts, Chocolate Ooey Gooey Bars.
First off, let me just talk to you about ooey gooey bars. If you’ve never had them in their original form which is just cream cheese and yellow cake you should try it. They’re sweet, rich, chewy and addicting. The original has a cream cheese chewy gooey top, with a yellow cake crust. I hesitate even to say crust because these bars are all chewy scrumptious mouthfeel.
Chocolate Ooey Gooey Bars our same texture, and the same basic formula but are totally chocolatey. Chocolate Ooey Gooey Bars that you’re about to make right now have a layer of fudgy chocolate cake mix, chocolate chips and chocolate cream cheese filling. Once you bake it up, it has a lovely crackly top that covers a multitude of chocolate layers underneath. Oooh, you should definitely bake this one up, you will love it!
