Is this the last weekend in the summer, the second to last? Technically summer doesn’t end until September 23st right? So, I can squeeze this summery mocktail in right at the end of summer, and it will still be in season. I know many of you are still experiencing hot days and warm nights. This is the perfect mocktail for you.
This mocktail is inspired by a close friend of mine in Oregon. She and I both stopped alcohol drinking a while ago, but we were both noticing that we missed something special to sip on during those hot summer days and warm evenings. Those of you who have stopped drinking know what I am talking about, em’ I right?!? That night I had made a Pineapple Jalapeno Mint Mockarita for her and she loved it. As we were talking, she mentioned to me, “have you ever tried making a Peach Jalapeno Mockarita?” I hadn’t, until now. This recipe is inspired by my sweet, spicy, friend.
Sweet Spicy
Peach Jalapeno Mockarita is the perfect combination of spicy and sweet. The peach nectar has all the seasonal goodness of fresh peaches, and when combined with grapefruit soda water, a squeeze of lime, and jalapeno simple syrup, this drink is a taste sensation. It comes together very easily and is easy to make by the pitcher if you want to keep the fuss down. I like to rim the edges of my glasses with Tajin (a lime and chili powder.) This drink is just the thing to spice up the end of your summer.
