A Fresh, delicious and healthful Mocktail that everyone can enjoy.
I love mojitos, the mint, and lime are the perfect combination, and to me, the epitome of a refreshing cocktail. However, being me, I am always thinking of ways to mix it up. This is where the Matcha-jito comes in. The Matcha adds an additional layer of flavor and healthfulness to this traditional cocktail. I am using Matcha Kari which is high quality matcha and adds beautiful grassy and herbal notes to the drink. Additionally, since I am an #sobergirl I am making this amazing drink alcohol free. However, if you stumble upon this recipe and wanted to make this into an acholic version. You can substitute the rum 1:1 for the NA rum. This drink is fabulous. This is an a perfect drink for any time of year!
An additional benefit to this drink is all of the additional energy, antioxidants and a potential increase in fat burning.
Matcha-jito – Mojito with Matcha
Equipment
- 4 oz Soda water
Ingredients
- 2 oz Non Alcoholic Rum Lyres Rum, or if you have rum extract a few drops into the soda water.
- 1 oz Simple syrup 2 tsp of sugar if you dont have simple syrup
- 4- 5 leaves Mint leave (fresh) Save a couple for garnish
- 1/2 oz Lime Juice
- 2 oz Sparking water
- 2 oz Matcha Tea Matcha Kari is an excellent choice
Instructions
- Add lime juice and simple syrup (or sugar) to your glasses
- Add the mint leaves on top and muddle.
- Add the Matcha Kari tea.
- Fill glass with crushed ice
- Add the Non alcoholic Rum (lyres or ritual rum are great)
- Add lime circle and sparkling water
- Garnish with fresh mint and a lime wedge.
- Enjoy!
